Sensitive to the degradation of our planet, Balade Geometric lamps are durable, reusable, and recyclable.
Admettedly, Balade Geometric lamps are made of polypropylene (PP), and paradoxically, in our case, it could be considered a better option for the planet than paper.
Reusability and durability: Polypropylene is a durable and reusable plastic. Balade Geometric lamps do not tear. They can be washed, modified or not and reused according to needs and/or desires. This reduces the amount of waste generated compared to paper products.
Energy efficiency: Polypropylene production can be more energy-efficient than paper production. Paper manufacturing requires a large amount of water and energy, as well as chemicals for bleaching and processing.
Recyclability: Polypropylene is a recyclable material that is PVC-free and certified to have no chemical migration. While recycling infrastructure varies by countries, recycled PP can be transformed into new products, reducing the demand for virgin raw materials.
Carbon footprint: Polypropylene is lightweight, which reduces carbon emissions associated with transportation compared to paper. Furthermore, Balade Geometric lamps are sold flat to further limit CO2 emissions during transportation. Overall, the carbon footprint of polypropylene can be lower than that of paper. This is even more true if the paper comes from unsustainably managed forests. Paper production can contribute to deforestation, which has negative impacts on biodiversity and the climate.
Last but not least: The assembly clips of the Balade Geometric lamps are made of PEF-certified beech wood from the Franche-Comté massif. Finally, Balade Geometric lights are perfectly suited for use with energy-saving LED bulbs.
